Fryderyk Chopin Society in Czech Republic belongs to the oldest of its kind in the whole world (it was founded in 1959). Presently, it is being overhauled into an up-to-date modern shape under the leadership of the new management with the president Martin Kasík – took their positions in March 2008. The whole society strives to enhance Chopin festival in Mariánské Lázně artistically and give it the highest possible prestige. Furthermore, it would like to assist and support young talented pianists.
Our society is the member of the International Federation of Chopin Societies (IFCS) and as such is the only one in the Czech Republic on the UNESCO list.
The society prepares the festival and other cultural and social events in close and fruitful cooperation with the Polish Institute and with the traditional co-organizer Municipality Mariánské Lázně.
The society has its seat in Mariánské Lázně (House Chopin, Hlavní 47, 353 01).
